Fall is coming and so is the dark drive home.

With the fall colors comes longer evenings and more headlight time for most commuters.   It may be time to look those headlights over and make sure they are performing up to their full potential.   If the lenses are cloudy or hazed up it might be time to consider headlight restoration.  Roo' process brings those lenses to like new clarity and restores your night time driving safety!

Our process is among the best in the industry and takes about 90-120 minutes from start to finish.  This isn't a quick fix. It is a restoration process.  Don't let those low cost buffing/polishing services talk you into anything less.  The restoration process strips the lens all the way back to bare plastic then slowly brings it back to a polished piece of plastic and we finish by adding an ultra-violet protective coating back to the headlight much like the coating the original manufacturer used giving them a diamond like finish!  We also protect the surrounding paint surfaces during the process to prevent any damage.

You deserve nothing but the best when it comes to your safety while driving and we guarantee you will be happy with the results you get!  Call today to setup an appointment!    We come to you at work, home, or anywhere in between!

This customer called her dealership and new headlights were $250 a piece(not including install)!  I saved her over $420 by having them restored!

Colorado Activities

Wow, I can't believe 2010 is halfway over already. There is so much to do here in Colorado the time just fly's by. Speaking of "flying" by, one sport that I have recently fallen in love with is fly fishing! I just started a few months ago and I have had a wonderful first few months! I caught 3 fish my first time ever fly fishing and have caught fish 6 out of 7 outings! There is nothing like just listening to the river run while soaking up all the wonderful scenery here in Colorado. The trout are just an extra bonus.

Having grown up in the land of bass fishing I am amazed at how big of fish you can catch on a tiny little fly hook. Better yet, how can the trout even see something so tiny flowing down a stream? It is truly amazing! Above are a few pics of my latest catches.

Headlight Restoration

Six months ago, I decided to expand my service offering at Roo's Windshield Repair. Although I get 5-7 calls a week for replacement windshields I still feel stongly about just specializing in the preventive maintenance of windshields. I know there will always be a need for replacements because not all damage is fixable. However, a large portion of windshield damage can be repaired when it first occurs.

I really like the fact that windshield repair saves the windshield from being thrown in the landfill.

So I chose to add another service that after many months of research I feel adds a similar benefit along with improving the night time safety of my customers. This service is called headlight restoration. This process removes the yellow, cloudy, and oxidized surface you see on many cars that are 3 years or older and we re-coat the lense with a similar clear coat that is applied at the factory. The results are truly amazing and I love seeing my customers reaction when I am done! It truly adds a "new feeling and appearance" to your automobile while improving your night time visibility. All at a fraction of the cost of new headlight lenses. This process like windshield repair also keeps headlights out of our landfills.

Not many people realize those nasty non light emitting lenses can be restored to like new quality. The next time you see a friend, neighbor, or co-worker with these type of headlights, do them a favor and tell them to call Roo's Windshield Repair and Headlight Restoration. Who knows you might just be saving their life or someone elses.

Happy New Year!

Wow, the year has taken off quick and we are already into February. First, I would like to thank all my customers from 2009 for a great year! I also would like to thank all of the customers that have already called me in 2010 that were previous customers and those that have referred me to your friends and families. There is no better feeling than getting a referral from a previous customer.

Well, with a new year comes new commitments and I am proud to say that me and my wife decided to start a new lifestyle and we are into our 5th week now. We are doing a program call Body for Life. It is an excellent program and works as I have done it before. The problem as with all diets is doing it for life. This program is all about portion control and eating 5-6 small meals a day and working out 6 days a week. The great thing about BFL is one day a week you get to designate as free day and get to eat whatever you want and as much as you want. It gives us something to look forward to during the week. However, sometime too much of fun food can make you feel sick after eating so well during the week. It is the one diet that is easy to stick to and the Eating for Life book that goes along with it has some great recipes in it that make the lifestyle change alot easier. If anyone has any specific questions about it feel free to contact me. I am always willing to help in anyway.

Stay tuned for more updates to my blog. You never know what you are gonna get whether it be an update about my life, the weather, my business, or a helpful hint to maybe make life easier.

Thanks for reading and best wishes in 2010!

October Winter Wonderland!

Well, the past few days of weather have been very interesting. Lots of snow, snow and more snow. I love snow! I guess that's a good thing since I live in Colorado. I also love that within a few days it will be gone. When the sun is out, (which we all know happens often here with 300+ days of sunshine) even those cold days feel warm.

Many of my friends ask me "Reese, so what do you do on those days when the weather is bad since most of your work is done on vehicles outside?" Well, unfortunately I don't do much unless someone needs a repair done and has a garage or a place to get the vehicle out of the weather. So another thing I love to do is cook. Yesterday when it was cold and snowy I decided to make my favorite chili recipe! I want to share it with my customers and blog readers, so here it is:

Brown 2 lbs ground beef in a skillet with
-1 cup chopped yellow onion
-3/4 cup chopped green pepper
-1 Jalapeno seeded and chopped
-1 clove of minced garlic

Once that is browned drain the meat and put it in a crock pot combined with
-1-15 oz can of whole tomatoes (chopped) I put them in our silver bullet
-1-15 oz can of tomato sauce
-1 can of kidney beans
-1 can of Rotelle Original Tomatoes and Green Chiles
-1 Tbsp Chili Powder
-1 tsp Dried Oregano
-2 tsp Cumin
-1/2 tsp dried crushed basil
-pinch of kosher salt
-1/4 tsp fresh black pepper

I usually let it simmer in the crock pot for at least a few hours before eating. If it starts to boil in crock pot you might want to stir it occasionally. Otherwise, you can leave it in there as long as you want.

I usually make some cornbread to go with it!! Delicious!! Perfect to enjoy on a snowy winter day!

Fall is upon us!

Wow, I can't believe it's time for the season's to change already. Everywhere you look you see the leaves changing. The temperature changing will not only change the leaves but it will change those rock chips into a cracked up mess in your windshield requiring a replacement. Moisture will get into the damage the temperature drops and bam, moisture freezes and causes the windshield damage to spread. Don't wait, call Roo's Windshield Repair (720)256-7078 today and schedule that appointment now. We offer same day service in most cases if you call early. We come to you while at home, work, football practice, shopping, hair salon, or even at the golf course.

Go Green with windshield repair! Don't Replace It, REPAIR IT!

Travel games!

I remember when I was a kid we would take the family road trips and play games such as who could spot the most VW Beetles. When you saw one, the first person to yell "slug bug" got the point. We would also play Bee Bee Bumble Bee, where you had to pick an item and say its color and your family had to guess what you picked. Fun times indeed!

Well, now that I am in the windshield repair business there is only one thing I notice on almost every single auto in the Denver area. You guessed it a broken windshield! Next time you come to a stop light look over at the car next to you and check the windshield, it seems like every other one is shattered. Some are so bad I don't see how the driver can even see where they are going. Then I think "you know if only they would have had that little rock chip fixed to begin with, that wouldn't have happened". I even heard someone say the other day "I think I will wait and see what happens to it?" HUH! Well I can tell you one thing it will not heal itself and it will probably grow up to be a big crack! Don't wait! If you have a chip call today and have it repaired. Save yourself TIME (we come to you), MONEY (chips are cheap compared to the expensive replacement glass you will inevitably need if you don't fix it), and the ENVIRONMENT(around 11 million windshields are replaced every year! That's 275 MILLION pounds of glass thrown into our landfills) all because that harmless little rock chip wasn't repaired promptly.

Please take advantage of this great service today! Call 720-256-7078 ask for Roo and let me go to work for you! Slug Bug!
