Did you know your windshield serves many purposes?

Windshields serve many purposes some are obvious and some not so obvious.

1. Windshields provide visibility to the driver of the vehicle while keeping wind, weather, and debris out of the vehicle.
2. Windshields keep occupants of the vehicle inside the car in the even of an accident.
3. Windshields help support the roof of the automobile in the even of a rollover.
4. Windshields play a crucial roll when the airbags deploy in an accident. Many airbags deploy hit the windshield and then come back towards the occupants. If the windshield is installed improperly the airbag could push the windshield out of it's frame and make the airbag worthless to the passenger's of the automobile.
5. Windshields cushion the blow in the event a passenger is thrown into it. Windshields are two pieces of glass with a flexible polyvinyl layer holding them together. This will allow the windshield to break and give in without completely shattering and leaving an empty void for the objects to enter or people to exit the vehicle during a collision. This layer in between the two pieces of glass allow the glass to flex a little and cushion the blow in case someone is thrown into the windshield.

Many people don't realize that any crack or damage to your windshield can jeopardize your vehicles safety system. It is important to have any damage repaired as soon as it happens not only to prevent it from spreading and causing you to have to buy a replacement glass but to also keep you and your family safe in the event of an accident.

Most insurance companies will pay 100% of the price of the repair while waiving your deductible. Why will they pay? Because their best interest is your safety, if you are injured it is more expenses for them to have to pay and heaven forbid you die, then you will no longer be a customer of the insurance company.
